Privacy Policy

CameraBuddy is designed so your camera feed and photos stay between your devices.

Effective July 15, 2026

Overview

CameraBuddy is developed and operated by Daniil Bondarenko (“CameraBuddy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the CameraBuddy iOS app or contact support.

CameraBuddy has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, or tracking. We do not operate a server that receives your live camera feed or photos.

Camera feed and photos

Your live camera feed is sent directly to the paired iPhone over a local peer-to-peer connection. It is not routed through or stored on our servers.

Photos you capture are saved to the CameraBuddy album in the Photos libraries of the participating devices. CameraBuddy accesses the camera and Photos library only after you grant the relevant iOS permissions. You can change those permissions in iOS Settings and manage or delete photos in Apple Photos.

Local device information

The app uses local device information to discover nearby CameraBuddy devices, prevent a phone from connecting to itself, remember settings, and maintain the current connection. This may include a device-generated identifier, app preferences, connection state, and locally cached subscription status.

This information stays on your device or is exchanged directly with a paired device as required for the feature. We do not use it to track you across apps or websites.

Subscriptions and purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your payment-card details.

CameraBuddy uses RevenueCat to provide subscription access and restore purchases. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app-user identifier, device type, operating system, app version, recent app activity, Apple receipt information, and subscription transaction information. We use this information only to provide and maintain subscription functionality.

RevenueCat acts as our service provider and may process this information in the United States. You can read RevenueCat’s privacy policy for more information.

Support communications

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and keep a record of the support request for as long as reasonably necessary.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers described in this policy, when necessary to provide the app, or when required by law, legal process, or to protect rights and safety.

Security and retention

CameraBuddy uses Apple platform protections and encrypted connections where applicable. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.

Camera and photo content is retained in your Photos library until you delete it. On-device preferences remain until you reset them or remove the app. Purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat under their respective policies. Support messages are retained only as needed for support and legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can revoke Camera, Photos, or Local Network access in iOS Settings, delete photos in Apple Photos, cancel subscriptions in your App Store account, and remove CameraBuddy to clear its local app data.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of personal information. Contact us to make a request. We may need enough information to verify and complete it.

Children

CameraBuddy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can address it.

Changes

We may update this policy as CameraBuddy changes or legal requirements evolve. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date.
